We lost a rider this morning. Don't take your health for granted.
Saturday morning one of the guys in our B group rolled off in the ditch right beside me at about about mile 45 and collapsed. We called the ambulance and did chest compressions until the first responders got there about 8 minutes later. He passed this morning at the hospital. He'd had a massive heart attack. Middle aged, rode at least a 100 miles a week (only counting the group rides I know he showed up to, likely more on his own), strong rider, but they said he had a considerable amount of blockage. Don't really know my point but make sure you get yourself checked out regularly even if you seem fit and maybe look into CPR training.
