Nothing specific for you here, but I've toured a good bit in Louisiana, north, central, and south. Mostly on US highways. Most have some sort of shoulder. Never had any problem with traffic, least that I can recall. Well, maybe getting into/out of NOLA.

A real plus: no Texas chipseal to deal with.
