I thought the previous owner of my Stumpjumper just cheaped out on pedals- but the more pedals I ride, I realize these Mongoose pedals are actually really cool. They've got a supportive platform and the pins to help keep your feet in place. The clips and straps would help protect your leg or whatever from the relatively sharp pins.
