I 've spent the last 43 years trying to pedal correctly- not ever going to try to retrain to use flat pedals.
The point I was trying to make is that the researchers don't understand proper pedaling dynamics. You're not supposed to be pulling up on the upstroke. What they did was the equivalent of spending somebody else's money to prove that Grizzly Bears can't sing showtunes. Guess what? Grizzly Bears aren't supposed to be able to sing showtunes and everybody already knows that.
