Did I just successfully repair carbon fiber crack with superglue?!
I recently cracked a Lezyne carbon fiber water bottle cage in a crash, just the upper retaining tab part. One side was cracked all the way through, and only partially so on the other side, so it was in place enough that ai thought I'd try gluing it.
Seemed to work...or should I expect it's too brittle and will crack again from regular use? I've squeezed and pressed on it, and slid bottles in and out, and really, it seems ok.
I'll tell you what, though, the carbon looks sharp, but man, paying for the look once is enough! Haha! If the repair doesn't hold, I seriously doubt I'll bother shelling out that kind of money again for another.
