For those that may be interested, the Crosstrail Comp Disk model has a Specialized Stout double ( SL 2x10 44/32 crankset with Shimano SLX HG81 10-speed, 11-36 rears) where the 8.6 DS has a Shimano triple ( T551, 48/36/26 crank with Shimano HG50 11-36, 10 speed rear). Dunno if that makes a big difference to anyone.
With local shop current discounts, the DS in black is about $100 more money tan the Crosstrail. $1275 vs $1175
The Crosstrail geometry feels bigger than the DS for the same frame size so, for me, the 15 DS was a little small, the 15 Crosstrail seemed just right, the 17 DS was OK the 17 Crosstrail too large.
The local shop does not stock the Crosstrail Comp Disc, but they ordered up one for me to try out sometime next week.
