I guess a lot of stories start with "today I met a man" but today riding the rail trail with my riding buddy a rider behind us overheard me telling about my grandson asking for a raise and was surprised to get it. The man agreed we should all get raise once in awhile. He was fourty something, long hair, lots of tattoos, jeans, sneakers riding a beat up old hybrid with a six-pack lashed to it's rack. I joked if we all got a raise we could get new bikes. As he rode ahead he said he had his old bike so long, he didn't want another.
This gent certainly carried off the "anti snob" thing with aplomb!
