Does anyone else pay more attention to sprint MPH than power? I've come to the conclusion that power isn't the end all be all, but speed is what actually matters. I hit 40 mph into a head wind with a so-so lead out the other night on a less than stellar power number. The old me would have thought it wasn't a great sprint, but looking at the distance and speed it was pretty damn good.
Go one step further, ignore speed
and power.
Results are all that really matters. Timing isn't easily measured but is just as important. Positioning, tactics, etc.
So many people put out more watts than me in a sprint, but I can still beat them. Ok, not all of 'em but still.
