A nice benefit is that my pile of extra bike parts is available for him to try stuff out to see what he likes (grips, saddles, tires, lights, etc.) without having to buy anything just on faith, and I get to feel like all those parts are going to good use.

I currently have a Brooks Cambium saddle and Ergon grips on loan to him off one of my bikes because he hated the WTB saddle and Felt round grips his bike came with.
That's great! On a side note: My Bianchi Volpe came with a WTB saddle. I also thought it was awful.
