There isn't anything "wrong" with cycling gear! Wearing the clothing/equipment/gear/costume (whatever you want to call it) is all part of the enjoyment of being part of a hobby/sport. Join in with the rest of us and have some fun.
That's the problem for me -- cycling isn't a hobby or a sport to me. It's a way to get to work, or to the landfill, or to the grocery store... I find it rather irritating to be seen as part of a social movement when all I'm trying to do is move.
