Got mine today from Velo Orange. Ordered only one set to look at them and see how they fit etc. They are nice and pliable. Seem to be like the gum hoods from back in the day. I wonder if they will deteriorate quickly? I mounted them on the Dia-Compe/Weinmann type levers on my P-15 Paramount
as the not very old Cane Creek ones on there were splitting and falling apart. All my other bikes with Campy levers have nice hoods as it is. Obviously these are a little tall on the tops of the lever perch where the cables enter, but I'm thinking they will settle-in over time as they are so pliable and soft. No unnecessary stretching was required, so I don't think they will split being used on this type of perch. Time will tell
1) I post these photos so you peeps can see these new hoods from Velo Orange, not to make a specific point of using them on a brake brand other than Campy.
2) With all due respect.... I don't care what you think about the way I have my bars positioned, or the way I wrap my bars, or the location of my levers on the handlebars, or the color of my bar wrap.
Seriously, I don't care how much you think that I am wrong.
I'm puttin' these images up so that people can see what these look like.
3) I also post a photo of my Campy Record levers on my '72 Mercian Vincitore. I think these hoods were some NOS dia-compe I scored at the LBS a few years ago? I don't remember. They are a little large but they are very comfortable and don't squirm around.
4) I am not 'ate-up' with the logo, or otherwise 'correctness' - I ride these bikes, I want comfort and a classic look as I ride mostly on the hoods, and I'm not running a museum.
