I always soak my jerseys and baselayers in a very mild Borax solution for about half an hour prior to wash, as this gets rid of the sweat odor. I always hand wash all my cycling kits, including Assos jerseys and bib shorts. And I don't use the Assos magic detergent either. I always use Costco's Free and Clear (no dyes, no perfume) for all my washes, because I just can't stand perfumed detergents. One other thing I do is to gather all my cycling kits and other athletic/gym wears (once a month), toss them in the washer with Penguin Sport-Wash (cold wash), do a double rinse, then hang dry.

My kits and gym cloths last a long time this way.
