Bikes: frankenbike based on MKM frame

I was a bit worried when my lbs retapped the fixed cup from English to Italian in 1981, but the guy assured me it was a standard practice for circumventing cross-threading. A couple of years later, I saw a manual - memory says it was an official Campy manual - which actually recommended the practice. Makes sense - it was either retap or braze in a new BB lug or discard the frame. Threadless BBs came a lot later. In fact, I can't imagine how a threadless BB could work, so I'm not sure they exist even now....

I've been running English adjustable cup with the Italian fixed cup. Again, my guy assured me that was a standard practice, and it seems to have worked. OTOH, I have a 2 spare English fixed cups, one SR and one TA. (Hmmm...maybe I'll flog them on the bay....)
