Your sig says "Dave Scott Centurian Ironman!" I too had a Dave Scott Centurian Ironman, about 1985 I think. It was my first road bike and I paid for it myself.
It's about $80 to ship, and most likely they will charge you return shipping back. For $600 wheels it might be worth it, not sure it is worth the hassle for $300 wheels. If you only need 1 wheel, I would just forget about warranty and buy the one wheel... from a more reliable vendor of course. Or another option is to take a lot of pictures and maybe they will let you purchase at "cost"?
My wheels were only $450 shipped and if one is found to be defective, I am not even going to bother with return shipping, just going to buy the one from another vendor. At only $450 I don't expect an excellent exchange program, and my warranty will just be the cheap cost to replace. I only have one road bike and don't keep a lot of spares laying around, but I do always have another set of wheels ready to go. It's always good to have at least one extra set for different gearing/tire config as well as backups. Rims are easily the easiest to part to break or get out of whack.
