When I was up in Portland a week ago, I encountered the Grill by Bike crowd/event. It was a unique event. A bunch of people showed up in one of the local parks with barbecues. Others brought food, and everyone shared.

Yes, good point. I think Detroit is starting to get there with the Slow Roll, Shinola, and a lot of other bike events. But Portland has a big head start. It won't be easy for Detroit to catch up.
