This was a big issue for me.

First season on clipless? Never ate it once. Second? Fell three times the first month the weather was nice enough to ride.

What did it turn out to be? My first season, when coming to a stop, I'd upclip R, get OFF the saddle then lean right. Never failed me once. The next year? I was staying seated and if I twitched too much L, over I went.

Now, back to the "slow, upclip, stand, stop" routine...not a problem.
