NJ: wkend traffic Revolutionary Ramble roads (Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris counties?)

I'm thinking of heading out to this area of New Jersey this weekend to do a modified version of the 50 mile Revolutionary Ramble route, which starts out of Madison, NJ.

Can anyone offer any opinions on weekend traffic in the area? My riding partner is overall good on roads, but a bit skittish on roads without shoulders, and I know that NJ in this area is definitely not known for its generous road shoulders. But I think she'd be fine if the traffic was relatively low.

The NJ Bike map shows most roads as "green," which is a good sign to start.
