Easy To Make A Seller Angry...

The other day, I listed two bikes on Kijiji. One was an old CCM roadster for a hundred dollars...

The other, a Bianchi Pro Race Team with full Campy ten speed. I offered the Bianchi as a trade for an old road bicycle or bicycles (something to equal values in the trade - you know what I mean, I think).

Anyway, while driving to town to drop this Mercier off at the bus station...

...I got a call about one of my bikes. The call was from Toronto and the fellow wanted to know where the bicycle was located (dummy, it is marked right on the listing). Regardless, I told him where I was and that I was on my way to ship a bike to Toronto right at that moment.

He asked about cost to ship, and I quoted between $90 and $100 CND. He said, rather abruptly, that he just had a bike shipped from Winnipeg, to Toronto, and he paid only $50. A few more words were exchanged before I said that is a great price and go shop in Winnipeg. With the suggestion he have a nice day, I then hung up. Rarely am I rude, but I had no interest in having this fellow challenge what I was saying.

The point is this - you are inquiring to purchase, not tell the seller how to sell, or how much to ask, or anything else. Doing so just might get you a dial tone.
