Here it is... I was looking for the "before and after" thread!
As seen below, this is my '85 Fuji Del Rey right as soon as I brought it home off of that college kid from the Craigslist ad:
After a few minor upgrades to make it my own, this is the latest and greatest photo that I just took, just a few moments ago:
- Forte Softail road/touring seat - the original Fuji seat (as seen in the first photo) was painful!
- Transit large style saddlebag to hold wallet, car keys, etc...
- Novara gel tape in "Natural" from REI to replace the extremely worn out, torn, and frayed, original cloth handlebar wrap.
- Forte toe clips & straps from my LBS to add to the Wellgo platform pedals.
I'm loving this classic "old school" steel road bike! The 27" Ukai steel rims (w/ 36 hole spokes) are still true and have no issues. Why the kid had his LBS put on Kenda K161 'cross tires on, I have no idea, but what the hell... They work and let me go anywhere without worry!
