5x6' ascending intervals (~90%/~98%/~105%, two minutes each) this morning, went much better than last Monday's. An undetermined amount of the reason is that I got out at 0630 rather than 0830, so it was about ten degrees cooler. Big difference in EF - 1.29 for Monday, 1.5 for today. HR was where it usually is, and dropped at about the right speed during the rest periods. My body seems to balk a bit when starting intensity after a layoff.
No assigned workouts this weekend, just ride as I want to. My TSS is 214 so far this week; my coach noted that my highest weekly TSS recently was 455, and cautioned me not to do more than 10% more than that. That gives me about four hours at endurance pace at about 70 TSS/hour. My plan is to do about 2:30 tomorrow (off work) and 1:30 Saturday (working).
