I still prefer quill stems. So much faster (and brainless) to raise and lower stems (a lot). Also, traditional threaded headsets, while harder to adjust, do not need to be adjusted every time you change your stem height. In fact, once or twice a year has been my experience on many bikes. And that is a tweak, 1/8th of a turn of the wrench. Visible, verifiable and easy. They may weigh more but they look so much lighter!
