After careful discussions with the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Staff in regards to the Washington Fire, we have decided to continue our preparations for the 2015 Tour of the California Alps – Death Ride®. With still 16 days prior to the event, the Board feels there is ample time to make a decision about possible changes to the structure of the event as conditions dictate. This decision will be influenced by the status of the fire containment, the condition of the roads on State Routes 4 and 89 as determined by CalTrans, California Highway Patrol, and United States Forest Service officials and by the overall air quality in the area as determined by health officials. We will announce our final decision through a blast email through imAthlete.com, similar to this message..."

Our email goes on to say that they'll make a decision as to whether to proceed with the ride by July 6.
