Back when I was in high school in the 90's I was obsessed with the look of 3-spoke "trio" wheels on cars. Then I saw the Spinergy 3-spoke bike wheels and I dreamed of having them, but of course it was just way too much money. Plus I wasn't riding all that much back then.

A local guy has a "Ye Olde" Trek Y-frame full suspension MTB in yellow, with 26" Spinergy carbon rims. It's quite the sight for sure.

Besides the weight, I wouldn't use them for the fact that you can't really true them at all.
