Purr, that's how Ebay used to be in the early days. You had to sit there and keep going back and forth and hope that your bid is higher than the next guy. And using those 56k or 28K modems? Forget about it. I'm still not a big fan of sniping programs per se but it all boils down to whoever has the higher bid wins, and since you have zero chance of countering someone else's bid you need to make your max as high as you want to reasonably go.
