Cycling alone for so many miles does engender a certain state of mind and creates this routine of cycling and camping which requires little thought. I loved it and it became an essential part of my life and a prerequisite to my well-being.
My view precisely. If you're worried about decrepitude, I'd be happy to set aside my preference for solo touring and make up an elderly pair for a week r so in the Cairngorms. Seriously.
