You're probably going to hate the Sylvans. Go with either the MKS GR-9 or GR-10, depending on the size of your foot (GR-9 for size 9 and under, GR-10 for 10+)
Or the
MKS "Urban Platform." The big, wide tab makes it easy to flip the pedal up.
I have some Lyotard mod. 23 pedals (the inspiration for the Urban Platform) on one of my fixed gear bikes, and they do make it easy.
