But it's interesting that a lot of teams don't put the top of the line bikes under all riders, or in some instances, even the stars aren't riding the latest and greatest. The top of the line bikes are a bit too expensive for that.
Bike choice is usually riders personal preference. Within a manufactures line, some models are more comfortable, handles quicker, or are more aero. Pretty much all bikes can be built under the UCI weight limit so riders can pick whatever they like.
