Main point was: Can they actually do anything about it, beyond telling you not to? I have lived in such places before (they always had a back door and/or service elevator) and I won't put myself again in the situation where 'the office' can tell me what I can and cannot put in my apartment*.
*Within reason of course. I don't see what is the big issue with a bicycle.
