I agree with you 100% and we would get along. But my bike is not where I completely nerd out. I just ride. I don't weigh my stuff, my VO2 max is unknown and the list goes on. I don't race or compare myself to anybody else. To me, doesn't matter. I think about the bikes that people used to race with years ago and I am pretty sure I would be just as happy with the same steel. Now, when I ride my brothers all carbon everything, then I say, "Holy crap bro! Your bike is amazing! How much did you pay for this thing?" Then I realize, that it isn't amazing enough for me and I still outride my brother on my aluminum weight monster. I wanted to get my hands on an old Steel Letour. That would be a great bike. They came back out with one for a while and I missed it. Oh well.
