I think a lot depends on how much cage width you want. A wider cage "may" accommodate more cog range before have to fine tune the FD. Personally I would probably not use an 11 speed on a 2x10 setup, but would run a 9 or 10 speed FD especially if I could get a much higher quality FD for the same money.
