A motorist, with a bicycle mounted to his car, yelled at me through his window to get off the street and use a bike path. Admittedly I was on the road immediately next to a major bike path in an urban area. And here’s why: I’m not going to yield the right of way every couple hundred feet. On the road I have the right of way. On the bike path I would have to stop at every intersection.
There’s all kind of cyclists out there. I’m a ride from my front door kind of guy, even on multi-day tours. Rarely do I attach bicycles to my car. I always feel badly for cyclists who feel the need to drive a few miles through suburbia to use a bike path.
