Why take a truck when a sports car is so much more fun to drive and can knock hours and hours off of your trip time on long road trips?

I wonder what the practical folks in Germany were thinking when they designed integrated rack mounting points into the roof of their sports cars?

Heaven forbid that it get driven on dirt roads to get to great riding...
