Just curious. Which make and model of recumbent do you think would be good on a vertically challenging trip like the Blue Ridge Parkway? This may give me a goal to work towards saving and such.

In no particular order, YMMV: M5 CHR, Lightning R-84 (carbon), A Bacchetta CA2 or a Carbent (both stickbikes) a Cruzbike Silvio(MBB) or a Lightning P-38(steel), M5 M-Racer (steel) . All with bare minimum stuff. Loaded touring? Probably a trike and not really worrying about how fast I can climb hills.
