That part of 111 is OK. It's basically all in Indian Wells. The part of 111 to the west of Cook St., which is pretty much the entirety of 111 in Palm Desert, is lousy with traffic, traffic lights, and little to none of it has bike lanes marked. Within Palm Desert itself, you are much better off riding on Country Club.
