I still ride a rigid fork for mtn and off road. Granted I don;t do anything technical, but my main objection to suspension is how it made issues with my style. I rend to hop over sudden surprises, and my rigid bike is lighter and easier to hop. Also, the suspension fork extends when the weight is lifted, so I have to hop that much higher to clear.

The other problem with suspension is that it makes higher speeds possible in tough terrain. At my age, I don't need to raise the speeds I crash at.
