I've also, of late, been quite interested in a number of American custom builders; e.g. many of the usual suspects who might be identified by lots of folks here: Dave Moulton, Koichi Yamaguchi, Bill Holland, Bill Davidson, Chris Kvale, Roland Della Santa, Bruce Gordon, etc. But that's casting a pretty wide net, and hardly as narrow (and therefore inherently elusive) a focus as I think tends to be implied by the term 'grail'.
