The difference is important because the 5701 has a larger max cog. I run a 12-30 on a RD-5701 SS. The GS version of the RD-5701 can take a 32T.

RD-5701-GS is the one i'm looking to buy. My concern isnt the max size, it's the range, but I'm starting to think it will be just fine.
