Should I keep the classic bars on the classic bike?
1) A classic road race bike required the big seat time and disciple for adaptation to the classic fit on the era's racing components in competition "back when".
B) "Back when" club cyclists were fitted with less reach/drop, a variety of drop bar configurations and lower gearing as a matter of course, and enjoyed the ride.
Fit 1) or B) as one's fitness requires, not everyone was/is Merckx but some can still hack a proper classic fit and most never could/can.
Modern bars on classic road race bikes? Ugh...........
