i have heard bad things about using WD-40 on my bike. I was wondering what the disadvantages of using this would be? ( i have about six cans of it in the garage and don't want it all to go to waste because the cold winter takes the pressure out of the can)
Also I've grown up using an lube called Kroil. I have loved it my whole life and have used it on a large amount of all my toys. Is there anyone else who has uses this and if so, is it a good lubricant to use on my bike?
Thanks!!
WD40 is not a lubricant, it is a
Water
Displacer (get it?)
It has minimal lubrication qualities, most of which are from volatiles so they evaporate away and leave the metal unprotected.
Great for cleaning, then you follow up with a real lube...
