I had the same problem with my SKS fenders. I tried to put the rear fender on myself, but just couldn't wing it. I took it to the bike shop, and he bent the little metal piece that attaches to the seatstay bridge 90 degrees so it would fit, then just attached the fender that way. The bulky deraileur wasn't too much of a problem, just bolted the fender on anyway. The rack and fender mounts are fine on the same eyelet.
