These are nice chains and they do work great with 7/8 speed stuff haven't tried 9 but based on the spacing I think they would work good with most 9 speed stuff also. As for value maybe $30-40 to someone who wants to complete a nicer Suntour groupo vintage correct, as just a nice chain $15. If I had them I would probably go ahead and use them.
