I'm with John E, you haven't overly upgraded that at all. I upgraded my '72 (a white one which I bought new) a long time ago with alloy crank and wheels, and Suntour derailleurs. Eventually I gave it alloy pedals, seatpost, and handlebar, and a new saddle. I commute on it sometimes. It's a fun bike to ride, comfortable and surprisingly spritely. I was happy with it for many years before I ever upgraded.
