When I first started riding this year I got teased a lot - by men. They would warn me to be careful not to fall off and made jokes about my helmet and gloves. They would also make comments that suggested I didn't know how to ride my bike in traffic and wondered why I, a mere woman, would spend $200 on a used bike when I could get one for $50. When I tell them how far I can ride now they look at me like I'm a lunatic. Their comments have now stopped and a few of them have since asked me for advice on buying a bike.
