Did you open the brake release tabs when removing the old wheels and then maybe forget to close them?

I don't remember the rim width being any different between the Bontragers and Vueltas on my bike, but you can adjust them wit the barrel adjusters, or just release the cable clamp and tighten it up if you're out of play in the adjuster.
