That refers to using a tripple crankset and possibly a wider range cassette. What's your cassette range?
Mine is 12-27, some people have 11-25 . If you are on one of these, one of options would be to spend some money "~80" and get either a 12-30t or 12-32t wide range cassette
that will help to save your quads... speaking of that, let me go buy a new rear derailleur to fit a 12-30t
