Need derailleur help
Hey people. I was on a ride yesterday and my front derailleur seems to be stuck. The weird thing is there have been zero previous issues, it was at the end of a 2-hour ride, and I was shifting with zero problems between small and big ring.
It's a Shimano 105 derailleur with integrated 105 brake-shifters. I should be able to just press the paddle in once and it will shift down.
I shifted to the large ring and was on flat ground for a while when I went to shift down to small, and it won't go. There's still tension in the cable (so it couldn't have snapped) but as I press the paddle in, nothing happens. The shifter doesn't budge even as I pedal.
I've never had this happen before and in five years of owning this bike that derailleur has never had a problem. Again —*there was NOTHING preceding it being stuck to hint that there's a piece of something jamming it or a broken cable. Like I said there's still tension on the cable.
I can't go to the shop today because it's a holiday here and everything is closed. Any tips on what to try?
