- i can't tell where you're from, but this is the greater-Detroit metro area. Mo Town. Motor City. The Car Capital of the World! but... yea... that said, people on bikes pay property taxes too. And considering the area where the bike lane was added / converted, probably more income taxes than most of the drivers, as the cyclist in that area are probably on the affluent side of things.
- side note: saw an article about downtown Detroit being considered a bike friendly city because the VERY wide roads, built for a city of 2 million people, are only half full.
I did a ride into Detroit Saturday, and it was pretty accurate. Early morning I was pretty alone. Late morning traffic was picking up.
