I always get jerseys with a zipper pocket, phone, DL, insurance card, and cash go in there, plus a house/car key. Left pocket has food, center pocket has a bottle in the summer and a rain shell in spring and fall, and occasionally a small cable lock on rambling rides that may have a few stops. Third pocket is often empty, and could contain tools but I prefer a saddle bag for that. I do shift this setup around so it balances if necessary, but load out rarely changes.
