I run my headlights and taillights while commuting in daylight as well as dark, which is one reason my the dynamo appeals to me. I'm looking forward to using it, but it might be a few weeks until I receive the light and wheel and get everything installed. The wheel is a custom build.
I've had a dynamo hub for years and would never consider a commuter without one. I usually keep the lights on constantly day or night. As tsl said, drag is not really noticeable and this is borne out by my weekly speed averages, which show no significant differences. Above 20 mph or so you can sense the hum, which is kind of weird. Also, I hear that some wireless computers may be affected. My light is a B&M LUMOTEC IQ Cyo R plus, which has been trouble free for 3 years in all sorts of weather.
