Keys, ID, credit card and a little cash go in one pocket, pump usually goes in another and phone goes in the third. Patch kit, multi-tool, spare tube(s) and a small thing of sunscreen are in the saddle bag. One bike has a bottle cage that has a place for attaching the pump, and if I remember, I'll put it there instead of my pocket.

One bike has only one bottle cage and another has none, so sometimes that means carrying a water bottle in one of the pockets.
Occasionally I'll carry a Clif bar or something in a pocket, but most of the time if I want to get something to eat along the way, I like to stop.

I used to be able to ride to race starts, in which case I had a little backpack for a spare bottle, a little food, and as a something to store jacket, saddle bag, lights, etc. in once I got to the start, and I wouldn't bother to put anything back on the bike before heading home, so it would all be on my back then.
